Iberia was founded in 1927 and has its headquarters located in Madrid, Spain. It is the country's national flag carrier and currently operates a worldwide network of services from its hub at Madrid-Barajas Airport. Iberia is part of the oneworld alliance and offers flights to over 100 destinations, including those through its various codeshare airlines. Codeshare agreements include partnerships with airlines such as American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, TAM Airlines and Air Berlin. Its fleet totals over 75 aircraft.
In 2010, Iberia and British Airways merged making it one of the world's largest airlines, however, both have continued to function under their current brand names. Iberia flights include numerous international destinations as well as local flights to Spanish cities such as Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid and Santiago de Compostela. Passengers are able to get flights from Iberia to locations within Italy such as Milan, Rome and Venice.
Passengers are able to check into an Iberia flight online. To do so, the surname, booking code and departure airport must be entered. For the majority of Iberia flights, it is possible to check in online the day before the flight departs. Online check-in is available up until 1 hour prior to the departure of the flight. During the online check-in process, passengers are able to select their seat. Once check in has been completed it is possible to print out the boarding pass. By checking in online, passengers are able to save time by avoiding the check-in queues at the airport.
All Iberia passengers are allowed 1 piece of hold luggage as well as 1 personal item. If they are a, Business Plus ticket holder, they're allowed a total of 2 pieces of luggage on the aircraft. The luggage may not exceed 56 x 45 x 25cm. The handle and wheels are included in these dimensions. It is important that passengers are able to lift their luggage into the overhead lockers by themselves. Liquids can be taken on board as long as each container is no larger than 100 ml. All liquid containers must fit into a sealed plastic bag and the total contents should be no more than 1 litre.
Iberia offers different levels of checked baggage allowance depending on the type of ticket purchased and which route the passenger is flying. On long-haul flights, Reduced Economy travellers are allowed to take 1 piece of baggage with them, while Full Economy and Business travellers may bring 2 pieces of baggage. Business Plus passengers are allowed to take 3 pieces of luggage in total. Passengers flying to European destinations with a Basic ticket are not allowed any hold luggage. Classic Flexible ticket holders are allowed 1 piece of hold luggage while Business Class passengers are permitted to take 2 pieces. The baggage allowance differs for passengers travelling to and from the Middle East and Africa.
Excellent staff. Informed of any delays. Would be travelling with Iberia again
Muchissimas gracias T.Molnard
Everything went smoothly from beginning to end.
Just perfect fly ! Cabine crew amazing! Food on bord very excellent! Nice first experience
All airlines should give out water for free!!
For a short flight expensive.
I was satisfied in general however we had more then an hour delay from Prague to Barcelona and also from Barcelona to Ibiza. In spite of that we arrived safely but the first aircraft had some technical issues therefore the delay. They checked everything but did not tell us much details. I would expect and want to hear more details about the issue from the captain and staff though. I think it was not very professional to tell us only a little and even when I asked them I did not get any proper answer. From my point of view it is the better way to inform in details to keep people calm if aircraft is not completely fine.
I bought an Iberia ticket... but never go to fly Iberia! Wamos Air and on the way out (awful, the worst flight experienced I've had) and Avianca and the way back (better but still not up to standard, especially the food).
The ground staff in Algiers were very rude and unprofessional.
My Iberia flight from Bogota to Madrid on Oct 22nd was cancelled and I had a horrible experience with Iberia. I only got back home 5 days after I was supossed to. Can I get my money back since I did not fly when I was meant to? Thanks
