Travel/Sales Agent, based in Leicester

Job Purpose:

To provide superior customer service over the telephone and via email to Opodo customers whilst selling and promoting Opodo products and services.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to Team Leader

  • Receive incoming calls/emails from direct consumers and converting a maximum number of these enquiries and calls into sales.
  • When appropriate, sell Opodo’s hotel products and ancillary services to ensure that an increasing number of people are aware of Opodo products.
  • To reach performance targets in sales, call handling and quality as outlined by the Sales Centre Manager.
  • To liaise with a variety of hotels, airlines and car-hire companies to resolve customer queries and concerns.
  • Play a dynamic role within the team, helping to reach targets and actively contributing in team and 1-2-1 meetings.
  • By maximizing all available resources such as sales scripts, promoting your self-development and that of others around you.
  • To build and maintain a close relationship with Team Leaders, relaying customer feedback to them about Opodo products, services and prices, to aid us in developing on-going improvements within the Sales Centre.
  • Work as part of team to ensure that all of Opodo’s customers receive the highest quality of service.
  • To assist other departments with calls and emails to ensure that a maximum number of contacts are dealt with and converted in to sales.
  • Process all types of reservations.
  • Giving out information over the phone to customers.
  • Ensuring that Opodo company policy is adhered to at all times and that the Opodo brand is promoted in a positive way.
  • General administrative duties as given by the Team Leaders.
  • Essential Skills:

  • High level of computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office applications and Internet search engines.

    Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Good working knowledge and experience of a major GDS.
  • Excellent telephone manner and listening skills.
  • Recognised industry qualifications are preferable.

Person Specification:
  • A self-starter who works well in a team and takes ownership of own performance to meet set KPI’s.
  • The motivation and drive to succeed within a sales environment.
  • Flexible attitude to work, willing to help other team members and departments.
  • High attention detail and quality focused.
  • Minimum availability of 35 hours per week based on a 5 day working week on rotating shift pattern.
