Founded in 1987, and headquartered in Madrid, Amadeus is the worlds leading global distribution system (GDS) and travel industry technology provider, providing marketing, distribution and IT services to the travel industry worlwide. Amadeus enables over 260,900 points of sale to make reservations, sales and ticketing transactions on air, hotel, car, ferry, cruise, rail and insurance products in more than 200 markets worlwide. Over 61,000 travel agencies, together with the offices of more than 130 airlines use the Amadeus System. Amadeus provides new generation airline IT services including passenger service systems such as inventory, yield and departure control. With its e-commerce business unit, e–Travel, Amadeus delivers global online solutions to airlines, corporations, travel agenices, portals and travel suppliers.

Aer Lingus

Starting with one aircraft in 1936, Aer Lingus has grown into one of the world's most-admired transportation companies, with a reputation for efficiency, friendliness and safety. Operating from its hub at Dublin airport, Aer Lingus flies to destinations within Ireland, the UK, mainland Europe and the US.

Air France

With a history that stretches back to 1909, Air France is one of the world's leading airlines - flying to 198 destinations worldwide. The Air France fleet currently consists of 231 aircraft, running over 1,250 daily flights. Air France's main operating hub is Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, accompanied by its Lyon-Saint-Exupéry regional hub, offering connections with other European cities. In 1999, it also inaugurated the "Rendez-Vous de la Méditerranée" hub at Marseille-Provence Airport.

Alitalia

With fifty years of hard-earned experience behind it, Alitalia is one of the leading airlines in Europe and in the world. With a network spanning sixty countries, Alitalia transports over 25 million passengers a year, and maintains a fleet of 166 aircraft. Alitalia's hubs are in Milan and Rome.

Austrian Airlines

Austrian Airlines have been the leading airline in their home market for more than 40 years. Within the Austrian Airlines network, a major emphasis is placed upon Eastern Europe and the CIS States. Together with their partners of the Austrian Airlines Group, Lauda Air and Tyrolean Airways, Austrian Airlines offer flights to 123 destinations in 68 countries on five continents. The Austrian Airlines hub is Vienna International airport.

British Airways

British Airways is the world's biggest international airline, carrying more passengers from one country to another than any of its competitors. Also one of the world's longest established airlines, it has always been regarded as an industry-leader. British Airways' worldwide route network covers some 535 destinations in 160 countries, the airline's two main operating bases are London's two main airports, Heathrow (the world's biggest international airport) and Gatwick.

Finnair

Finnair is one of the most experienced airlines in the world, having flown regular scheduled flights for more than 75 years. Finnair has a fleet of more than 60 aircraft, and its route network, depending on the timetable period, covers about 50 international destinations - including 18 within Finland itself. During 2000, Finnair carried over 7.4 million passengers. Finnair's main operating bases are Helsinki airport, and Stockholm.



Iberia

Iberia, which was founded nearly 80 years ago when it flew its first three Rohrbach-Roland aircraft on a regular service between Madrid and Barcelona, is today the head of a group that encompasses maintenance and handling activities, and one franchise (Iberia Regional/Air Nostrum). Today Iberia Group flies to 101 destinations in 40 countries, plus another 83 in codesharing . With a fleet of more than 200 aircraft, it offers an average of 1000 daily flights. Iberia's main operating base is the Barajas airport in Madrid.

KLM

KLM is the oldest scheduled airline in the world still operating under the same name, recently celebrating its 80th birthday. KLM ranks seventh among the International Air Transport Association's more than 200 member airlines in terms of international revenue ton kilometers. Operating a fleet of 125 aircraft, the route operated by KLM and partner airlines connects 145 cities in 67 countries on six continents. KLM's main operating base is Schiphol airport in Amsterdam.

Lufthansa

Lufthansa is one of the world's largest and most prestigious airlines. The airline has successfully measured up to the challenges of globalisation and liberalisation and is now a highly profitable carrier and industry pacemaker. Lufthansa's subsidiaries are market leaders in their business areas. Following its full privatisation in 1997, Lufthansa has emerged as one of Germany's biggest public companies with 400,000 shareholders. Lufthansa's hub is Frankfurt airport.
